Join us for another year of quality biblical education designed to solidify important biblical
doctrines while maintaining the dynamic atmosphere of the Holy Spirit. The ministry of the Holy
Spirit is a powerful part of biblical doctrine. When both are in order and correct it creates a
dynamic and powerful force for ministry.
In this first year program we will be discussing six world views and how they each shape ten
different segments of society. We will study...Christianity, Islam, Secular Humanism, Cosmic
Humanism, Marxism/Leninism, and Post Modernism.
As we investigate each of these worldviews we find that Christianity provides the best
environment for justice to dwell. We also find the dangers in allowing the influence of these
other worldviews to permeate our society unchecked. This class will prepare you to be effective
witnesses for Christ even in hostile environments.
This new year will begin with our new book on eschatology “The Failure of the Church: A
Chronology of End Time Events.” We are excited about this addition to our curriculum! Finally
we have an eschatological view that makes sense of an over opined subject. When finished you
will no longer be confused about the order of end time events. You will also be encouraged to
pursue and fulfill your individual destiny.
Our learning model is based upon five Hebraic primary principles of learning.
•
ALAPH: This is a Hebrew word that means “ox” and is associated with “to yoke together.” It is
the picture of the MENTOR. Also because of developments in the science of the brain it also
shows that alaph is a picture of METACOGNITION which is the way we learn and take in new
information.
o
MENTORING: In ancient times when oxen were yoked they would place a younger
less experienced ox along side of an older more experienced ox so that the
younger would learn by following the older. This shows a strong correlation of the
importance of the mentor in the students’ lives. Hebrews 13:7 tells us to imitate our
leaders’ faith. Also we see the negative form of this in Proverbs 22:24-25 Do not
associate with a man given to anger; Or go with a hot-tempered man, 25 Or you will
learn (alaph) his ways And find a snare for yourself.
o
METACOGNITION: This is a term that reveals how our brains work with new
information. When there is a memory established with an association with the new
material, the new material will more likely be remembered. Again we see the power
of association with the older more experienced and the younger inexperienced. This
is found in Isaiah 28:10 where the people are mocking the prophet but are showing
the method of teaching little children, precept upon precept.
•
LAMAD: This Hebrew word is also a letter of the Hebrew alphabet and started out as the
picture of a shepherd’s staff which was used to guide the flock. In modern Hebrew it is the
picture of the ox goad which also is used to direct the ox. This is a picture of
INSTRUCTION and is related to KNOWLEDGE DEVELOPMENT. This is seen in
Deuteronomy 4:10 “Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb,
when the Lord said to me, ‘Assemble the people to Me, that I may let them hear My words
so they may learn (lamad) to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they
may teach (lamad) their children.’”
•
YARAH: This method means to learn by pointing and is the picture of throwing or
shooting an arrow. In this method we see the element of LIFE COACHING where the
mentor teaches and develops decision making skills by counsel. Exodus 24:12 “Now the
Lord said to Moses, ‘Come up to Me on the mountain and remain there, and I will give
you the stone tablets with the law and the commandment which I have written for their
instruction (yarah).’”
•
SHANAN: This Hebrew word means “to sharpen” and is a picture of GIFT
DEVELOPMENT. Gift development is vital if the disciple is to mature into the minister God
has called them to be. Gift development is primarily by practice. Deuteronomy 6:6-7
“These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. 7 You shall
teach them diligently (shanan) to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your
house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.”
•
YASAR: In Hebrew this means “to turn the head” or “to turn in another direction.” It is a
picture of CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT and means to correct or chastise. Proverbs
29:17 “Correct (yasar) your son, and he will give you comfort; He will also delight your
soul.”

About Accreditation
Many are not aware that secular colleges are accredited by an accrediting agency run by the
federal government of the United States. Because of their belief in the separation of church and
state, it is therefore a violation of the first amendment of the Constitution’s free exercise clause
to regulate in any way a religious organization. As a Christian college, we are unable to receive
accreditation unless we offer liberal arts. We feel this is a compromise of our vision to be purely
a bible college. We are a member of ACEA. Academic Council for Educational Accountability.
It is by reason of this that Collegium Bible Institute is exempt from the Private Institution
Registration Program under Minnesota Statute 136A.657, and is therefore entitled to offer
religious education degrees. See statute below:
136A.657 EXEMPTION; RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS.
Subdivision 1. Exemption. Any school or any department or branch of a school (a) which is
substantially owned, operated or supported by a bona fide church or religious organization; (b)
whose programs are primarily designed for, aimed at and attended by persons who sincerely
hold or seek to learn the particular religious faith or beliefs of that church or religious
organization; and (c) whose programs are primarily intended to prepare its students to become
ministers of, to enter into some other vocation closely related to, or to conduct their lives in
consonance with, the particular faith of that church or religious organization, is exempt from the
provisions of sections 136A.61 to 136A.71.
